S1ngapore Walks! (SG50 - AMK Trail)

Registration: bit.ly/mySG-AMK

Learn more about the changes in Ang Mo Kio when you embark on this trail, as we embark on an exploration of the changes that have occurred to meet the various needs of the residents over time.

Take in the sights and sounds of Ang Mo Kio while soaking up the memories of the many ‘firsts’ in the neighbourhood. Participants will begin their journey at Ang Mo Kio Garden East, the first town garden in Ang Mo Kio before proceeding to Ang Mo Kio MRT station — one of the first stations built along the North South Line. Next, a visit to one of the first mosques completed in Singapore under the Mosque Building Fund Scheme Phase I — Al Muttaqin Mosque — awaits before participants finish their journey at Ang Mo Kio Central Market and Food Centre. Participants will have opportunities to hear from the people of Ang Mo Kio, while also exercising their minds and limbs by participating in the quizzes and games along the the ICT-facilitated trail.

The entire trail lasts about two hours and participants will take a giant step towards healthy living by travelling on foot from site to site. The content and script for this trail have been created in collaboration with the cluster schools in the South 1 Zone and we hope to highlight how Ang Mo Kio, as microcosm of Singapore’s development, represents the continued efforts to adapt and meet the varied needs of our people.

10 Simple Ways to Connect to Your Teen

Mrs Ismail who is in-charge of Environment Education would like to appeal to PSG parents' support on the following: This year the school will be embarking on re-using or recycling used glass bottles - wine ketchup, drinks, essence of chicken bottles etc and containers or jars to be used as decorative items. This is a student initiated project. Please help us in our effort towards waste minimisation either by donating the glass bottles and/or containers. We will get a vendor to help us with the terrarium making which will be placed in each class. Parents could either bring the bottles/containers on 28 Feb Lo Hei (Sec 1 esp) or drop them off at the boxes outside the school General office. Thank you very much. Looking forward to the support in this project.
