Chinese New Year "Tidbit" - Gifts of Gold
Chinese oranges, or tangerines, are commonly given out during this period. They are called "kam" in Cantonese, which also sounds like "gold" in the same dialect.
In Mandarin, they sound like "ji", meaning "lucky" and also mean "gifts of good omen". The oranges are given in even numbers for good luck when visiting friends and relatives.

10 Simple Ways to Connect to Your Teen

Mrs Ismail who is in-charge of Environment Education would like to appeal to PSG parents' support on the following: This year the school will be embarking on re-using or recycling used glass bottles - wine ketchup, drinks, essence of chicken bottles etc and containers or jars to be used as decorative items. This is a student initiated project. Please help us in our effort towards waste minimisation either by donating the glass bottles and/or containers. We will get a vendor to help us with the terrarium making which will be placed in each class. Parents could either bring the bottles/containers on 28 Feb Lo Hei (Sec 1 esp) or drop them off at the boxes outside the school General office. Thank you very much. Looking forward to the support in this project.
